What defined his presidency? Courage and integrity, and truth tempered with compassion were his hallmark. He spoke of international communism as the "evil empire"... he looked at Berlin and said, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" His mother had marked a special passage in her Bible. We believe that those words printed in black ink on paper, and reinforced by his mother's faith and example, actually formed the character of the man who became the leader of the free world for his time. He carried the message in his heart, and encouraged us to do likewise. "If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, Or if I command the locust to devour the land, Or if I send pestilence among my people and My people which are called by My Name Shall humble themselves and pray And seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,
Then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
(2 Chronicles 7:14) Their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor! J u l y 4, 1 7 7 6 Fifty-six men signed the Declaration of Independence. Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died. Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured. Nine of the fifty-six fought and died from wounds, or hardships due to the Revolutionary War. They signed -- and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. What kind of men were they? Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated, but they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured. Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags. Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward. Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton. At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General, Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson later died bankrupt. Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months. John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children, vanished. Let us, on our knees, thank God for these Founding Fathers and their families, and pray that we may by His Grace, become worthy of their sacrifice. Then, and only then, can America return to her true destiny in God's plan!

Can there be peace in any nation if the divine order is not in the family homes of that nation? Psalms 127 and 128 beautifully describe the blessedness of such family relationships. To recognize, acknowledge and live in such relationships is to know the blessings of heaven. Can a family achieve such a heaven-on-earth reality by its own efforts? Can a husband, a wife, decide, then work to achieve such a family? Only if the divine plan is honored - only if each individual in that family comes into right relationship with God, and with each other - can this become reality. We increasingly see what is wrong with our culture. We wonder, why is there so much selfish greed, thievery, oppression and murder? For those who have believed hellish lies, the clouds of doubt and unbelief have hidden God's Light and the Truth of His great Love for us. Glorifying SELF is at the root. "I WANT WHAT I WANT!" So, the "I AM THAT I AM" and his representatives, must wait in the anteroom, until the sinner turns to Him. Therefore, this twenty-sixth day of March (by the western calendar), Today we say to the Prime Minister of the nation of Israel, to Binyamin Netanyahu: "We, the sons and daughters of Almighty God, who reside in these United States of America, do welcome you and your people today. We honor you for your ages-long tradition as God's special people. We confess that through trickery and deceit, a government sits in our nation for a brief while. We ask the forgiveness of Our Heavenly Father, and we ask for your forgiveness as well. This government will not remain, for we have determined to cast it out. In the meantime, we remind your people and ourselves of the inspired words of the psalmist, King David of Israel.
"Do not fret because of evildoers, be not envious toward wrongdoers. For they will wither quickly like the grass and fade like the green herb. Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him and He will do it. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light and your judgement as the noonday. Seasonal Changes...Serious Thoughts For an amazing testimony from someone on the ground in Haiti, go here: HAITI -- computer technician: It is God that brings all this on us. priest leads worshippers in praise to God, thanking Him that they are still there. TV evangelist cites a legend that Haitians made a pact with the devil if he would rid them of the French. Observing the videos and reading the reports, we are shocked. Soon numbness sets in. The human misery seems overwhelming, and we gratefully turn to the TV on Sunday afternoon to watch the football playoffs. It helps to get excited and to blow off some steam. Some have written checks for HAITI, and put them in their church collections this morning. Firefighters from Virginia are already there on the ground, digging into rubble to hopefully find and rescue someone, anyone, who is still alive. Water. It is so easy to forget, if we ever knew, just how necessary to life is the element the scientists call, H2O. Let us pray, and let us worship the Living God. Let us not blame Him for our sins, or for the sins of others. Instead, let us thank Him for His mercy and tender-lovingkindness. Why? Because that is His nature, and He will yet bring good out of the disaster. It is the living who will see it happen. It is the dead who will praise Him for delivering them from a living-death. Their ancestors may have delivered them over to the evil one -- but their torments are now over. Jesus warned that we would see things like this in the "last days." (Matthew 24:3-8) Let us pray, and then do all that Father will help us to do. Let us pray especially for private and governmental authority who make the decisions, sending the rescue workers and equipment of mercy. The official action should have been more quick -- but now let their hearts be softened. Let them, personally, sacrifice from their own treasuries -- not from the tax-monies of their citizens. This is the time for us all to give from our hearts -- willingly, graciously. Send the Truth of Holy Scripture, delivered by those who come in mercy -- Let them give out of hearts of love, and do not hinder them, because Haiti's people need Truth, even more than they need food and water. So be it, Almighty God! As Haiti, the physical land is cleared of debris, As its remaining people are rescued and fed, Now let the reconciling ambassadors of God's kingdom walk the land in humble prayer, praying for God's mercy. So shall the cleansing away of the blood and idolatry of the centuries be accomplished. Only then can Haiti become what God planned for her long ago. Today we honor Arthur Bonhomme of Haiti, a man of God and statesman whose prayers for the people of Haiti may now be answered. May the new Haiti indeed be born again! Update: It's wonderful to know that Haiti's president called the people to prayer and fasting for three days; and that one million responded. It is even reported that a number of Voodoo priests were converted to Jesus Christ. Surely God is bringing good out of disaster!

We remember that Martin Luther took a tune sung in taverns, and made it live forever when he composed: "A Mighty Fortress is Our God." So as a declaration of faith, and to pronounce judgment upon all the works of evil that threaten us today, let us sing it again!

Virginia Dawn, December 30, 2009 We can celebrate a new beginning. For instance, We can clean up our living space, Getting rid of all those paper stacks, Deleting all those old emails, Shop for healthier food items - More fruit, veggies, legumes, seeds, nuts, And drink really clean water - And we can make New Year's Resolutions. Each of the fore-mentioned efforts is good, But they are self-motivated. They'll have a benefit for us, But only a temporary one. Because the old fleshly ways will Rear their ugly heads again and Swallow up all our good intentions, Leaving us frustrated and discouraged. Is there any hope for us? Or are we doomed before we even begin? We are doomed indeed, Until we change management. As long as we stress and strain Out of our own will and determination, We will fail. A H I G H E R L A W ? There seems to be a law for just about everything. When a situation exists which needs to be changed, someone will say: "There ought to be a law!” The big problem, however, is that some people don’t believe that the laws defining boundaries for everyone else, should define boundaries for them. "They are a law unto themselves,” the saying goes. So, what do we do? How do we protect ourselves from the lawless ones who prey on the innocent, the gullible, the trusting ones, those who are most vulnerable?
How do we do that today? Do we need many years of academic education so we can claim a degree to impress the world? Or can we have a living relationship with Someone Who knows everything, Who lives everywhere, and Who has the power to change our situation because He created this world and everything and everybody in it? Yes, we can. Once we see this Truth and enter into it, we will know the Truth, and we will know the One Who is the Door to ALL TRUTH! "I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except through Me.” What do we do with an assertion like that? Simply put: we accept it and put ourselves into His nail-pierced hands, or we reject it – thereby separating ourselves from Love, Truth and Life forever. The author made this decision, holding up a white flag of surrender, in October of 1960. It is now approaching the 50-year mark for me. You may ask if I have ever regretted my decision. How could I regret it! My Heavenly Father, His Son, Yeshua (Jesus), and Holy Spirit have set me free from the power of sin, the lies of God’s enemy, satan, and the temporary attractions of the world and of its system. I have experienced more heavenly rescues than I can count! Neither can I count the miraculous interventions in every area of my life, and the lives of my family members. It is simply an amazing lifestyle! This brings us to the question: "Is There a Higher Law?” We must answer: Yes. It is the Law of Love. The answer began to come to me with the first reading of what we know as "The Sermon on the Mount.” It is found in Matthew’s book, chapters five through seven. It is an intense concentration of the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth regarding the kingdom of heaven on Earth. In this passage the Son of God teaches that God’s standard is so much higher than our poor human attempt at "doing right” and shows that there is no way we can achieve it by ourselves. Sin is the problem. We are sinners. We need a Savior. Again, "I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by Me.” Bottom line. End of story – actually, it is the beginning of forever! Here’s a personal example and a true story: I had just left the bedroom of my thirteen-year-old son, after angrily removing a recording of which I did not approve. My frustrations with the childrens’ behavior seldom turned to anger, because I would always pray, committing the matter to God. In the process, His peace would always win over my humanity. This particular day however, was different. I was shaken by the intensity of my son’s anger. "Help me, God!" I looked to heaven, and before I reached my own room and closed the door, an unusual message had formed in my spirit: "You shall love the Lord Your God with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul and all your strength. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. This is the first and second great commandment. Now, say it this way. You SHALL love the Lord Your God with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul and all of your strength. You SHALL love your neighbor as yourself. My commandment is also My promise: you SHALL… and you can claim it in prayer!”
Half laughing now in my excitement, I remained praying these same words and inserting the names of everyone I could remember who was a part of my life. "Father, You said… "

We are reminded of caveats from God's Word given to those entrusted with governmental responsibility. Please see: We need to look at historical evidence: the Will of God It is a very good thing to want to fulfill God’s will. To actually DO it requires that we think like Jesus did when He was on the earth: "Your kingdom come! Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven! " (Matthew 6:10) There are some conflicting doctrines in church history which can cause Christian believers real frustration and thereby paralyze our effectiveness in prayer. Until we are sure that God wants to save our loved ones, we do not, cannot, have faith to pray and believe that God will do it! Thus blinded, the biblical understanding of warfare between light and darkness; angels and demons, faith and doubt and unbelief, is hidden from us. In The Revelation to John, Jesus (now ascended) speaks to the seven Asian churches about the blessings reserved for the overcomer:
Lord!Open our ears to hear Your voice, in Jesus mighty Name, amen!Then open our eyes to see and understand your truth.There is a growing understanding among praying Christians that demonic spirits do indeed limit our reception of God’s intended blessings for us. We are in a war that rages in the spiritual realm, and because we usually cannot see our enemy, we are sleeping while the battle rages. However, when we receive "eyes to see” and "ears to hear”, we begin to understand. Then, and only then will we pray effectively. Today, apostles and prophets are being sent to us for this purpose. The Apostle Paul wrote from divine revelation in Ephesians, chapter three, verses 8-21 To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things; so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him. Therefore I ask you not to lose heart at my tribulations on your behalf, for they are your glory. For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. Let us thoroughly chew and digest these truths until we, like an airliner, break through the clouds of doubt and unbelief to the heavenly blue and light-filled sky of God’s truth, and thus understand His will for us, and for those we love! The author was a layman who researched and wrote about health issues and their history. It seems that special interests with financial and power motives were just as active in those days as they are today. Following are several excerpts regarding the ignorance of the people regarding hygiene. The first one describes the Copenhagen of the 1500s and 1600s. The King was coming to visit, and the accumulated piles of dung had to be removed to make a way for him to travel about the town. ...No wonder the King always complained, when riding about his realm, of the constant obstructions in his way. How costly a royal visit might be is easily understood when it took no less than eighty cart-loads to clear a small street in the village of Skelskor in 1563. In 1678 a manure heap was removed from one of the streets in Copenhagen in no less than 214 cartloads. Until 1584 the sewage water running in the streets of Copenhagen had no other outlet than the moat. In 1591 a royal proclamation was issued forbidding the citizens of Middelfarts Street, who were the wealthiest in Copenhagen, to throw their refuse into a cul-de-sac called Mørkegyde, or the "dark pot." This practice had gone on for more than thirty years, completely blocking the road. The dung situation in medieval castles could become disastrous, as cited below: ...If we turn to the castles and the royal palaces, we find to our amazement that the conditions, even here, were much the same. No one in those days dreamed of drains or sewers for carrying away to a suitable place outside the town or castle the wasteproducts of human and animal life. This problem, which to the people of the sixteenth century did not seem a problem at all, was solved within the castles and palaces in the simplest way possible, by arranging, generally in the middle of the complexity of buildings, a cesspool - of course with no outlet - where everything could be dumped. These dumping places, where dirt and refuse were allowed to gather not only for decades but for centuries, sometimes assumed the proportions of actual underground meres, subterranean pools or lakes as, for instance, in the Castle of Erfurt [Thuringia, now Germany] to which the Emperor Frederik Barbarossa summoned a gathering in the year 1183. This was perhaps the greatest assembly of princes and knights the medieval age had seen. The splendour and magnificence of the decorations and dresses filled the whole of Europe with wonder and awe. But the end was destined to eclipse everything in awfulness. For just when the whole assembly had gathered in the big hall, it so happened that the beams supporting the floor suddenly gave way, rotted by the fumes and moisture rising from a century-old accumulation of manure in a semi-fluid state of decomposition in a cellar below. It seemed, to those who were able to save themselves from the calamity, as though a secret power had suddenly pulled the floor down, dragging eight princes, numerous noblemen, over a hundred knights and many more of lower rank into the main sewer of the castle where they met a terrible death. The Emperor Frederik Barbarossa was able to save his life by quickly jumping on to a window-sill, from where he was let down to the ground by means of a rope. 'Sic pereat gloria mundi.' - Latin - [ So the glory of the world is governed.] Thus the pride and pomp of men and women who fancied themselves superior to the rest of humanity ended in a filthy lake which festered beneath them. Their counterparts today might want to examine their own motives and alliances. Could there be... is it possible... that there really is a fiery place where evil is rewarded? We wonder how the emperor, Frederik Barbarossa, might answer THAT question. Speaking of soil… Considering Roots Rosemary, Oregano, Thyme It was good to get my hands dirty. The soil elements of composted material, humus and manure, some good ol' Virginia clay and top soil, had been mixed together in a large bucket several
days earlier. It had received water from a prayed-for rain. On Sunday, a friend had gifted me with some herbs and a hanging flower basket from a plant nursery. The creeping thyme, oregano and rosemary plants were waiting for me now outside the
front door and I was ready! The sun was up several hours earlier, and NOW was the time to put the new growing mix into some holes, then to place the young plants. As I dug holes for the new plants, I remembered some things that the Master had said: Matthew 13:1-23 (NASB) That day Jesus went out of the house and was sitting by the sea. And large crowds gathered to Him, so He got into a boat and sat down, and the whole crowd was standing on the beach.
And He spoke many things to them in parables, saying, "Behold, the sower went out to sow; and as he sowed, some seeds fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate them
up. "Others fell on the rocky places, where they did not have much soil; and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of soil. "But when the sun had risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they
withered away. "Others fell among the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them out. "And others fell on the good soil and yielded a crop, some a hundredfold, some
sixty, and some thirty. "He

"The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away. "And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty." So, I thought, the same seed of God's truth can be sown into four people, and the way it grows or does not grow, depends on the state of their souls. Their mindset, their lifestyle, whether or not they entertain sin, all prepare the soil of their souls. "Ah"(said I to myself) "this must be why the scripture writers kept repeating the warning 'Repent!' It means to change your mind, to turn from a bad road and to take the road that leads to God.
"Yes! That's why Jesus described Himself as the Way, the Truth and the Life, and that no man could come to God except through Him. No wonder that the evil spirits motivating other religious teachings cause people to hate bible-believers so much!" As my hands were busy with soil, roots and plants, I was being led on a journey of discovery. As a society, we REALLY need to get back to the ancient wisdom of the soil and natural living! Something else came to the surface during this experience: roots from the tall pine tree that stood on the other side of the walkway, ten feet away. As I dug the holes for the herb plants, several of these roots appeared, and I had to adjust my plan to avoid injuring the part of the tree which was underground. This began a whole new train of thought. Things that God plants in our lives must be protected from the root up. Things that the world, the flesh and the devil have planted need to be identified and pulled up out of the soil of our lives! That is why the Prayer to Dismantle the Roots of Rebellion, by Paul Cox and his team, is so important! Since rebellion and witchcraft are twins, as defined in scripture, the need to pull out these roots is urgent! One more thought: The last gardening I did this morning was to prepare some more holes, give them new soil, and transplant into them the lambs' ears plants that grew nearby. These plants were at the edge of the grass, and had been cut down continually by mowing. Now they could grow and spread safely. I mused: How aptly named this plant is! So soft and inviting to the touch. "Lord, I remember that You are the Lamb of God! May my human ears be like these lambs' ears, inviting the touch of Your Word and Your Love! "And Lord, about any bad roots in my life, please forgive me. Take all roots of rebellion and bitterness out of me, and fill those places with Your love. Thank You!"

We established that because of Jesus Christ's teaching and example, honor and reverence for God will be the foundation for our lives - our words and our works. When we relate to our fellows - love, mercy, forgiveness and honor will be our motivation and our lifestyle. Because "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge" "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" "in the fear of the Lord is strong confidence, and his children will have refuge. "The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, that we may avoid the snares of death." The fear of the LORD then, is at the very foundation of our lives as we seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness. Matthew 6:33 The Death and Resurrection of Lazarus Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and Martha.
It was the Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. So the sisters sent word to Him, saying, "Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick." But when Jesus heard this, He said, "This sickness is not to end in death, but for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified by it." Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.
In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.
The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. The Witness of John There came a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light. There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. John 8 Jesus Is the Light of the World ...Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life." And He was saying to them, "You are from below, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world. "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." So they were saying to Him, "Who are You?" Jesus said to them, "What have I been saying to you from the beginning?
"I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you, but He who sent Me is true; and the things which I heard from Him, these I speak to the world."
They did not realize that He had been speaking to them about the Father.
So Jesus said, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me.
"And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him."
As He spoke these things, many came to believe in Him. The Truth Will Make You Free So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
They answered Him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, 'You will become free'?"
Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. "The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever.
"So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." Jesus answered, "I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me. "But I do not seek My glory; there is One who seeks and judges. "Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he will never see death."
The Jews said to Him, "Now we know that You have a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets also; and You say, 'If anyone keeps My word, he will never taste of death.'
"Surely You are not greater than our father Abraham, who died? The prophets died too; whom do You make Yourself out to be?" "Jesus answered, "If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say, 'He is our God';
and you have not come to know Him, but I know Him; and if I say that I do not know Him, I will be a liar like you, but I do know Him and keep His word.

Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I Am." 1 John 1 Introduction, The Incarnate Word What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life-- and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us-- what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete. God Is Light This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
