Warriors Arise! You're Born For Spiritual Warfare - Roman

"Warriors Arise! You Have Been 'Born for Spiritual Warfare!'"

Ivan Roman, Medford, OR

Recently, during a worship service, I saw a vision of a mighty warrior sleeping. I then watched as a huge hand rested on the warrior's chest and shook him awake. My eyes spanned the room and I noticed a wide array of weapons on the wall that were covered in dust.

Later in the service I saw God handing people shields and spears.

"Take your place, pick up your spiritual weapons and fight!"

The shield in Scripture is the shield of faith (see Ephesians 6:16). Many in the Body of Christ have battered and cracked shields. They continue to "fight the good fight" but have taken devastating blows to their faith.

The spear in Scripture represents the zeal of the Lord - we see this in Numbers 25 with the spear of Phineas.

When our faith is under attack, our zeal for God wanes. The Scripture admonishes us to, "Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord" (Romans 12:11).

God is waking up the warriors who have been in deep spiritual slumber. He is removing the dust from our weapons and healing faith in the Body of Christ. Faith restored leads to passionate pursuit of God's heart.

You Were Born for Spiritual Warfare

The Church was born for spiritual warfare. Sadly, many have not been taught about this or have been taught an intimacy that lacks power to tread upon serpents and scorpions. Church, it's time to pick up your spiritual weapons of praise, worship, tongues, fasting, declarations, prophecy and so much more and begin fighting for your families, marriages, children and the condition of our nation. Passive Christianity will never advance the Kingdom of God.

"The Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence and violent men take it by force." (Matthew 11:12)

Practical Keys

1. Ask yourself: Has my faith waned? The Scriptures tell us to, "Not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up" (see Galatians 6:9).

Pray this with me if you are struggling to believe God for the hard things going on in your life to change:

"God is waking up the warriors that have been in deep spiritual slumber."

Lord Jesus, please forgive my unbelief. I trust You, even though I may not completely understand all that is going on right now. I pray for the peace of God that surpasses understanding. I receive a brand new shield. Restore my faith Lord, so that I can fight the good fight and see Your Kingdom established in my life. Amen.

2. Are you struggling with passivity or apathy about the things of God in your life?

We are called to, "Seek first the Kingdom" (see Matthew 6:33). Seeking the King and His Kingdom causes us to burn bright with holy passion.

Pray this with me: Jesus, I repent for taking my eyes off of You. Lord, I pray for a fresh baptism of the Holy Spirit's fire so that I may burn for You. Jesus, please remove all those things in my life that hinder love. Stir up a heart for prayer and time spent in Your presence. Amen.

It's Time to Arise and Shine!

No more complacency. The Army of God is rising up. This army doesn't fight with human weapons, "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:4).

God's original mandate to Adam and Eve remains ours: "Be fruitful, multiply, subdue the earth and have dominion" (Genesis 1:28 emphasis mine). It's God's heart for Heaven to be manifested on the earth everywhere one of His glory-carriers walk.

With love in my heart I boldly say, "Take your place, pick up your spiritual weapons and fight!"
