Beauty of Righteousness

Were you born beautiful

Or did you become beautiful by studying the  outward appearance of people you admire, and then imitate them ?

Or did you surrender your life into the hands of Your loving

Heavenly Father through His Son's Sacrifice on the Cross ?

STOP AND CONSIDER FOR A FEW MOMENTS . . .

the Beauty of Righteousness

Psalm 45:7-8

You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy. All your robes are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from palaces adorned with ivory the music of the strings makes you glad.    NIV

Those words are addressed prophetically by the psalmist to the Lord Jesus. They are a picture of Jesus - His character, His attitude and the reason why the Lord exalted Jesus.

It's important for us to understand that Jesus was not treated as a favored Son. He was not given promotion that He had not earned, but He earned His promotion and the reason given here is His attitude in moral matters. The psalmist says, "You love righteousness and hate wickedness, therefore God has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy." It was the attitude of Jesus in the matters of righteousness and wickedness that caused God to promote Him.

Notice that there's no neutrality in these matters. If we love righteousness, we will hate wickedness. We cannot compromise with it. And notice also the beauty that goes with righteousness: the fragrance of myrrh and aloes and cassia and the melody of strings from a place of ivory palaces. What a beautiful picture that is of righteousness and how righteousness causes God to exalt those who practice it.

Well, that puts a different complexion on our consideration of

beauty, doesn't it?  . . . what it truly is . . . where it originates . . . the path to achieve it . . . and the 'forever factor' involved.

To hear God whisper, 'daughter of perfect beauty', is a truly awesome thing. It is not a compliment on your form, your face or your taste in clothing.

It is the expression of a happy and satisfied Father, because His dear daughter has chosen to love righteousness and to hate wickedness.

Over the years He has guarded you jealously, rescuing you from many temptations, many dangers. He has taught you that His Way is indeed narrow, and that there is a ditch on both sides. To make sure you learned this and were determined to live it, He even allowed you to lose your footing and to fall into the ditch a time or two. When you were truly sorry, he would love, forgive and lift you back up onto the high-way.

Then you really knew . . . the only way to stay on His Narrow Way was through humble obedience. You would always be blessed by His loving Presence, the ministry of angels, and a few caring 'brothers and sisters' along the Way.

After all, there is great reward at the end, and the wait will be well worth it - yes?

We pray for you as did the Apostle Paul,

Blessings to all who truly love Our Lord Jesus Christ !

Let us consider the beauty of righteousness and our future reward,

by looking here and comparing God's standard with today's

'political correctness' regarding these issues:

Sodomites, Harlotry, Child Sacrifice
