Over the years as Yolande has lived life and
learned its lessons, she's been co-creating
a legacy that amazes, delights, and at times
puzzles those who know and love her.
Today as she approaches that birthday
dreaded by so many,
she is 'at the top of her game'
both literally and figuratively.
She plays tennis at 4.0 and over.
She sings and speaks with passionate
conviction as she promotes issues close
to her heart; those avoided by many.
She treasures her marriage to a remarkable man,
and brags on their three fine young-adult children.
Family means more now than
it did for some years.
Healthy relationships become easier
when your body and soul are happier.
Indeed, 'in Christ, all things are
possible to them that believe'.
(Even singing for Dr. Ben Carson
and being seen on the evening news!)
She grew up in N.Virginia, (where the cardinal
is the state bird).
Now her home is in Florida.
Yet there is still much about Yolande that
reminds one of the 'cardinal with attitude'
pictured here --
Colorful, direct eye-contact, on-the-move
and generally, a person to be reckoned with.
She is 'the real deal', as many who know and
love her can attest.
The book she authored several years ago tells of a woman troubled by inherited illness
and medical attempts to lessen the symptoms.
Recently on August 21, 2015, at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center, an unforgettable evening
took place. Attendees heard and saw a lovely, talented wife, mother and entertainer --
'The Yo-Show' -- give testimony of her life struggles and the collection of miracles
which have brought her to the present time. She loves and thanks God every
chance that she gets. The evening of her 'Uplifting Testimony Event' was videotaped,
and is available for viewing on Facebook. There are four segments which include songs,
supporting appearances of her children and husband, Paul Kneuer,
and an amazing presence of God which validates her story.
This photo is a favorite of Yolande's. It evokes her love of her native country.
It reflects the beauty of the Florida shoreline.
And finally, it whispers of a special bond of love given to two people
devoted to overcoming the trials and tragedies of their lives.
